whats going on

Alex ask me what is the point of going to training if there it noone turning up anymore. He said that he still wants to be apart of this club,it was great at first when everone was there at games and training ,but it feels that the fun and heart have gone out if it all,and that how alex feels.

I remember when james said that if the players didnot turn up for training that they would be kicked out ,but it got to the point that players were just turning up for matches and nothing was said.It feels that this team is going through the motions and noone is bothered.

Is this going to happen throughout the club in the future or just to this team.

Can't speak for the club but I'll give you my opinion. It's sad when a club struggles to put forward a team and it's a toss up whether to keep going or fold it. Saints on this occassion seemed to have chosen to fold it but I think in the hope it can be resurrected next season.

Training will always be a bone of contention for some people, it was with me 45 years ago so some things just don't change. Not everyone for whatever reason can make training sessions especially Saturday mornings. This can give the impression of 'lack of interest' when the fact is they just can't make it.

Whilst those words came from James's mouth it's really down to the coach/manager to organise and control the team both on and off the pitch. Having a ruling to leave out players for not training is fine to a degree if you've twenty or so players in your squad. When you've only twelve what do you do?

There does seem to be a huge communication problem within Saints not least of all in the use of this website. Whilst I can understand your frustration at the situation ask how many of these lads or the parents ring to say they can't make it? They don't even think of the coach who gives up his/her spare time free of charge at at their own expense.

I wouldn't imagine it going through the club and I don't know who ran or will run the team next year but first and foremost it needs someone committed. Then it needs committment from the players and finally the parents. I'm sure this is in place already but don't hold me to that.

You can see the complacancy on this website by the lack of match reports from the coach's, it's not lack of interest, look at the league positions of most of the teams, it's just that they don't see communication as an integral part of the club or a tool to be used to improve the football. WRONG, show me any company in the world that hasn't got good communication with their employees not having good communication skills and I'll show you a company that will eventually go bust.

I really hope for the sake of people like Alex that this team gets back up and running with the new coach's that I think are coming. That said they can't drag the lads to football and if they and the parents don't make the effort then yes, as you hint at, it will fail.
