U11s vs Mellor Yellow Under 11

U11s vs Mellor Yellow Under 11

Postby dani porter on Sun Dec 14, 2008 4:33 pm

A great win for the under 11s today to end the year with each individual playing well and contributing to the teams victory.

The result ended 3 - 0 but could have been more but nothing can be taken away from a great performance. The U11 started lively, playing brilliant football without any luckk in the final third. But eventually luck was on our side when Declans strike took a deflection forcing the opening goal. Then 3 minutes lately Callum Sudders doubled the lead with a fine finish from a brilliant free-flowing move.

In to the second half only the opposition keeper and great defending from the Mellor players, kept the score from increasing. Then the goal that would seal the victory eventually came when the ball dropped for Callum, who yet again finished brilliantly.

Kurt didnt have much to do today but was alert to every danger he had to pursue in order to add yet another clean sheet to his tally for the season.

Marc yet again showed great composure on the ball when he was needed making some brilliant tackles and bossing his authority on his team mates.

Matthew had a great game getting involved when ever he had the chance, though he was in defence he played some brilliant passes resulting in a fine contribution.

Even though Jay is considered an attacking player he showed his versitilty making brilliant challenges in order to stop the opposition from advancing.

Reece captured the man of the match award today for his fine performnace on the left wing of the saints midfield. Supplying some fine crosses for the saints attackers.

Callum Sudders showed great composure in front of goal taking is goals in a fine manor. He also showed his creativity supplying some great passes.

Connor had a great game sticking to his duties well. He also had a chance on goal but unfortunately couldnt supply the finish. But i am not taking anything away from his fine performance.

Ben showed touches of magic on the right wing as well as commitment defending with great desire for his team.

Declan was again lively as well as getting on the score sheet with a fortunate goal but he deserved it with a fine contribution to the team performance.

Callum Outhwaite had a great game coming off the bench making some great tackles in the saints, defence once again showing he is improving.

Chris had a great game in the centre of midfield when he came off the bench, his determination to win the ball was outstanding as it was for every player.

I would like to end the report by showing my gratitude for your efforts today in difficult conditions. I am proud to have had the opportunity to work with you today but we have to remember to take it a game at a time.

I would like to thank Jack as well as the parents for their support it was brilliant as always.
WELL DONE BOYS!!!

Good result

Well done on your result today lads, sorry we couldn't be there to see it I haven't been well all week so it wasn't worth the risk. Looking forward to seeing this great team play again soon.

Sounds like you all got it together today and if you're making teams defend against you they're less likely to score. Playing on heavy pitches because of rain is never condusive to good football but you did the job in difficult conditions :D

Another clean sheet, that speaks volumes for the team as a whole and shows you can defend in depth. I know you can because I see it week in week out, opposition teams that come onto this forum looking for snippets must wonder how the heck are we going to break them down when they see reports like this. :D

I was a bit worried about getting back into the swing of things after a few weeks without a game, unfounded by the looks of it and three more points in the bag for Rooks. Well done to all and hope to see you next week.
