another outstanding result by the boys today against a team who have come on leaps and bounds since we last played them ,they realy came and gave their coach 100% ,ist half was a joy to watch ,as ive stated over the last month some of the football they are playing for 10 year olds is excellant ,the link up play all over the pitch was exceptional ,the other week i mentioned how joel smith was unplayable well if anyone had seen ross sykes play today they would say he was unplayable ,he must of started 20 moves in the first half winning the ball in the tackle giving simple passes and going for the return but what was pleasing for me was every time ross pushed out of defence one of our midfield dropped into defence to cover with out me saying anything because i was reffing, because thats the worry against the good sides that if play breaksdown up field we could be left short at the back ,todays second half you could see the little fellows getting more frustrated about not scoreing there keeper who i gave there man of the match to was in fine form ,but being persistant and keep knocking on the door youll get your rewards and we did through joel smith then a second later on from ethan chorley ,well done to ross for getting man of the match and the rest of the defence for yet another clean sheet ,just would like to mention james lawe who today along with ross were outstanding what james is adding to his game now is consistency .
one of the coaching web sites ive been on recently talks about where reward and fulfilment comes from when a coaching young kids and it clearly states it comes from seeing gradual improvement of your players your coaching and ive got to say how true that is to see how much this bunch of kids are progressing.
