Saints Under 8's v Barnoldswick Town

Saints Under 8's v Barnoldswick Town

Postby Matt Ostle on Mon Apr 07, 2008 8:30 am

Result = Barnoldswick 0 - 4 Saints U8's

A good first half performance so the lads lead 3-0 at half time with 2 good finishes from Baran Ozceuik and a goal from Levi Ostle. The passing and movement was quite good and our defence was orderly and in control.
We maybe should of been more in front than the scoreline suggested with our final pass the only thing letting us down. The second half was a different story, in what is my personal feeling that it was our worst half of the season. Our defensive positioning and overall positioning of the team went a little misshaped which enabled Barnoldswick to penetrate into our half with too much ease for my liking. Our Passing game went from good to reallly poor as we went a good 10 mins without putting 3 passes together, our communication on the pitch was non existant which caused players either going for the same ball or both of them leaving it. We finally added a fourth with 3 minutes to go thanks to a good turn and run from Bradley Ditch who blasted it past their keeper. Overall another excellent result and clean sheet with Josh still away on holiday and no Billy Grant in the side. Levi Ostle was given their Man of the Match Award. Our first half was ok but a little work is going to be needed on our positioning and concentration. Well Done Lads :) :) 1 game to go!!

Good result.

A good result never the less. I've seen the Rooks play similar games where two players either both go for it or neither do and the passing goes to pot in one way or another.

Communication is always going to be a problem with youngsters and you can't beat a good passing side.
Well done lads. :D
