Saints 2 - 12 Haslingden

What can be said about the first half of the game? A combination of lack of attacking play and panicky defending left us with a quite harsh 9-0 scoreline. Nathan in goal made some good saves to keep the scoreline down, including keeping out a screaming shot from the edge of the area.

But to the credit of the players they were a completely different side in the second half. We went forward more willingly and played some fantastic football despite the bad pitch condition. We grabbed a couple of goals thanks to Andrew Reynolds and Phil Eidson, but rather unluckily conceded 3 more before the final whistle. It was a great effort considering the scoreline, and the players should be credited with not allowing it to affect their performance as a team.
