It was a very solid performance today from the Under 13's, playing top of the league Langho Juniors it was always going to be a tough game. But to the lads credit they played a fantastic first half, camping out in Langho's half the majority of the time. Despite some great attacking play we couldn't find a final ball, and conceded 2 soft goals. You could say the size and physicality of some of Langho's players made the difference.
Second half, we started out still looking for a good chance, and we had that a couple of times but unfortunately couldn't capitalize and conceded 2 more. Heads never dropped during the game, and they deserve praise for the way they handled themselves in defeat.
Something else to take away from the game was the great defensive performance against a team that are used to scoring a lot more than they did today. Saints played fantastically as a unit, making lots of good tackles and interceptions to prevent Langho grabbing any more, including a couple of great goal line clearances from Nathan Farrer.
A couple of individual performances to single out were Callam Robinson, who has made the left back position his own over the season, and Man of the Match Dillon Morley, who seemed to be everywhere on the pitch (and was in double figures for overhead kicks by the end!)
Well played lads, a win isn't far away if we carry on with these performances (and we play a team that isn't in the top two for once
