A superb performance saw the under 11's go clear at the top of the table. Straight from the kick off the boys took the game to the opposition and what an opening goal from birthday boy matty with a great strike from outside the box into the top corner, the boys continued to pile on the pressure resulting in a second goal by dec. The goal of the game followed almost immediatly with a calm pass out from matty from defence to curtis in midfield who ran 30 yards chip the ball over two defenders for dec to run onto who calmly ran another 20 yards rounding the last defender and slotted the ball into the net. A super chip from ben just after half time made it four. And a further three goals from dec made it 7-0 and it was just rewards for the intense pressure piled on the opposition during the second half. A sloppy piece of defending once again cost us a goal in the last minute. May I just say the boys played some tremendous football in very difficult conditions. The only down side I have today is when a player is subsituted it is for a reason to give other players an opportunity and they should not throw tantrums and start sulking as one or two did today, so please boys play as a team and not as a set of individuals. Well done to you all and many thanks for your tremendous support on te sidelines.

Super display

Given the conditions it was a superb display, your training is paying off and hard work on the pitch turning in fantastic results. :D

There must have been some tired legs out there and I know one or two of you got some knocks during the game with good hard tackling. Keep that going it's my sort of football as long as its fair. Funniest tackle in the game goes to Matty when a forward tried to round him, Matty did a circle round him to win the ball but you should have let go of his arm Matty. The forward spun like a ballet dancer and finished up on his backside. Not really dirty play just enthusiasm to get the ball.

I have to agree with James's comment on substitutions, it's not a reflection on the way you are playing if you are substituted, all the lads in the team deserve a run out because they are part of that team and fresh legs does sometimes benefit. When you're well in front it's easy to bring almost anyone on in any position but if things are tight the subs could find themselves not getting on at all. It's not easy to accept particularly if you're having a good game but it's part of football and should be accepted.
One thing I like to see when the scorline allows it is for players to be given a chance up front like Matty today. It gives them a chance to express themselves in a different role.

Anyway, todays performance was admirable by any standards, you ran your socks off when I honestly thought you might faulter on the heavy ground. Well done to all, a real credit to the club.
