How can I be critical after a battling display like that today? Not your best ever football but so committed for most of the game. We ran out of steam a bit in the last ten minutes of ordinary time but that's hardly surprising the effort you put in. What a time to concede an equaliser so close to the end. Hand on heart I thought you'd blown it then. It looked like we had nothing left in the tank but you showed otherwise.

Ossy were arguably one of the best sides you've come up against this season and you more than matched them. Football is about taking your chances and had we done that first half we could have had it sewn up.
First half saw some great tackling from Mark and a poorly Matt in defence who unfortunately had to come off at half time but he'd done his job. We still had instances of not releasing the ball quick enough but not as bad as previous weeks.
I think too that the smaller pitch maybe suited Ossy a bit more than it did us, said at the start of the season that we seemed to play better on the bigger pitches.

Extra time was a nailbiter and Sudds could have sealed it had he got a head on that cross. I'd have put money on him scoring from there but not to be. We held our ground as Ossy pressed and pressed for the winner but we were resolute in our determination to hang on and you did it, admirably.

Nobody likes penalties but that's the rule and how our lads rose to the challenge, cool nerves and superb strikes right to the end. There has to be a winner and Saints came out on top but full credit to Ossy for giving it their best shot (no pun intended) in the shootout.

Ossy are top of the red league and today was a test in more ways than one, it shows that you can mix it with the best and come out on top when you play anywhere near your best. It's hardly surprising they are top of their league the way they play but I think you've showed today that our league has also got a good footballing side.

I'll finish by saying well done to both sides for an entertaining game of football played in a sporting manner by both sets of lads. Now let's go all the way with that Saints fighting spirit we have, its not beyond the realms of possibility. :D :D :D

Well done Under 11's on all accounts a great game against a very good ossie team who i think are 3rd in the other league just shows what we are capable of as I don't think ossie have lost too many games so far this season. Well done really proud of you. Paulax
