Gregson Lane v Saints--------------Cup match

Gregson Lane v Saints--------------Cup match

Well lads not the best game you've played but not the worst. Too many big gaps in midfield which allowed the opposition in and stopped you going forward.

Ty was played out of the game by his marker who did a fine job for his team.

Defence played a high line and got caught out way too often forcing Nathan (beast) to come out of his area far to often.

Man of the match Nathan Crabtree put in another awesome display of goalkeeping highlighted by the penalty save and saving the follow up shot. The acolade was well deserved making fine saves and stops throughout the game.

The first half seemed like our lads were still asleep and bunched up far too much, second half was a lot better. Need to get some consistancy in the play. Positives from today..........concentrate on the league.

Susan.

Thanks for that Susan, you're spot on with your comments on the contrasting halves, it seems like the lads got a bit complacent, Gregson being the only team we've played this season that can cause us problems.

Basically we were overworked in midfield, there wasn't anywhere near enough movement or communication, so we ended up unable to pass through to our forwards who were very isolated throughout the game, first half especially. Some of the players need to get their heads down and work harder if they want to get anywhere this season.

But there were signs in the second half of us waking up and keeping some sort of possession, which we will need to learn to do for all 60 minutes to be able to break the tougher teams down.

Man of the match for me was definitely Nathan Crabtree, he made some good saves in the second half, and was very aware all through the game to sweep up behind the defense.
