Darwen Rangers Boys vs. Padiham Saints

Darwen Rangers Boys vs. Padiham Saints

Postby Admin on Sun Feb 24, 2008 2:40 pm

Darwen 0-6 Saints (Scorers: Phil Eidson, Callam Robinson, Liam Fletcher, Oliver Smith, Kurt Craddock, Liam Etherington)

Well, we've been looking forward to this fixture for a while and you can see why with this result! Today we totally dominated start to finish and deserved the win without a doubt. We made a good start, pressing brilliantly and scoring emphatically after Phil volleyed over the Darwen keeper after a great ball in from the left. The foot never came off the pedal in the first half as Saints continued to pressure Rangers and grabbed another 3 before the whistle.

Same story in the second half too, although admittedly with a couple of lapses in defense which were recovered well. Liam and Kurt were rewarded for their good performances with goals in this half. Nathan Crabtree was the cleanest looking of the bunch with Darwen unable to muster a shot on target.

It would be hard to single out a performance today since everyone had a good game, but a couple of mentions to Kurt who played well as a central midfielder today, playing with confidence and picking out some fantastic passes, and Ollie who had great day in defense, staying back when needed and pushing forward at the right times.

With this result we now can't possibly finish at the foot of the table. Just two more games to go now this season, Sporting Athletic next week and Clitheroe Wolves the week after - hopefully we can grab some points off those teams too.

Well done lads, keep it up!

-Tom

It's a result long overdue and more points to play for, well done to all for a great display from all accounts.
Makes a change for Nathan (Crabby) to be redundant........and clean. :)

Keep it going next game lads, if you're not frightened at Whitehough, football teams are no problem for you.

Very well put Nathan, I like it! could well be our new team slogan....

And you'll be playing in defense most likely against Sporting Athletic, so I hope you aren't planning on conceding 3 goals! Don't think you can let goals in just to try and make your predictions correct. I'm on to you.

I'm with Tom on that one Nathan and what do you mean we are going to draw we are going to hopefully win with another clean sheet again. I am sure you will all give us 110% again stay focused and don't let them catch you out and you will be more than a match for them. Don't forget last time we played them we should have beat them comfortably, it was only the lack of concentration for ten minutes in the second half that let us down. Keep up the hard work from last week lads. Tom and I are really proud of you.
