outstanding display from the boys today ,that was in my view the best all round football weve played all season, some of the passing and crossing and movement of the ball was a joy to watch ,im not just saying it because its my team but that was the best display from all our midfeild in both halfs that ive seen from 10 year olds ever anywhere ,not as individuals but playing as a team playing proper football passing and moving, both joels were outstanding on the wing with joel moorhouse scoreing another goal of the season left foot thunder rocket into the top corner- some goal and closely matched with james lawe"s outstanding goal in the second half ,what i like about james this season is that he"s added tackling to his game and doesnt know when to give up if he loses it he will fight tooth and nail to win it back and some of his crossing was a delight to watch which one resulted in little george newton scoreing a cracking header ,some of georges awareness on the ball today was exceptional passing the ball to feet all over the pitch ,as stated earliar that was frightning how good our midfield played today, just like to say well done to ethan and jack who dont play as much as others due to fighting for one centre foward slot each week but are starting to bang the goals in ,jacks new name is goal agame moodie ,it will be better next year when we go to 9 aside and both of them can play up front togeather .also our goal keeper joseph who didnt have alot to do today but made 2 excellant saves at crucial times in the game when it was 1-1 thats showing me that his concentration during the game is excellant .

:D :D :D well done again boys

cheers AIDY

Got to say what about the defence surely with the goal line as it was they must have done something. Sometimes its easy to forget about this when we are scoring lots of goals but at the end of the day it's ok scoring goals but defending them as well is just as important. Well done to Curtis Wilson, James Crawford and Ross not let a lot of goals in this season and that is a defensive record to be proud of keep it up.

Hope nobody is offended by me saying this but those lads work hard and I know because these games are high scoring games for the saints people tend to forget about them.

Well done

Great result lads, haven't checked your league but you must still be up there.

Don't think folks forget the defence Paula it's just that sometimes in some games they don't have that much to do. When they do make that crucial tackle its lost in the fast and furious action of the game. Matty and Mark did it yesterday for Rooks and if they hadn't done the result may not have been the same.

The forwards always get the glory scoring the goals hence the trend to be a bit greedy with it at times. More often than not the man of the match will be the goalscorers but if people watch the game and particularly the crucial tackles and great passes maybe it wouldn't be so.
Personally I'd scrap the man of the match, it seems sometimes this comes before the team with some players. That's just my opinion on that.

Keep your lads focused Aiddy, league title on the horizon?

Success

Postby Jon on Mon Nov 17, 2008 11:36 am

This can be measured in lots of ways, being up there for the title or a great cup run is one way of doing it but for teams like the u14's who on occassions tend to struggle a bit it can be measured by not finishing bottom or a positive goal difference or even just holding a top side to a reasonable goal difference in a game. :) Moving up the table one place can be such a confidence booster to sides like this and something to strive for.

Wish all the Saints teams could come out on top and I have a feeling two and maybe even three will do. What an endorsement for the Saint's, their sponsors and the lads and lasses who play in the teams. Won't be long before all the top players in the area are knocking on the door wanting to share the success. :D

Keep going lads and lasses, strive to do your best, no one will ask anything more. :D

Quire right. The under 14's are really pulling together at the moment and hopefully will finish higher up then last year also the under 12's and under 10 ravens who are in their first seasson are doing extremely well and ought to be proud of themselves

paula very sad to here those comments at the top ,if you read previous games reports which i know you do all the players have been mentioned when they have played well ,yesterday was the first time as a midfeild unit in both halfs that they all played for each other, some of the passing and movement was a joy to watch -THATS WHAT I WANTED TO HIGHLIGHT ,I DONT WRITE REPORTS ABOUT THE KIDS TO TOUCH PEOPLES NERVES I GIVE HONEST ACCOUNTS ON HOW THEY ARE IMPROVING WHICH THEY ALL ARE ,AS STATED BEFORE LOOK BACK OVER THE SEASON AND SEE HOW MUCH THE DEFENCE HAS BEEN MENTIONED .

ANOTHER GLOSS OFF A BRILLANT WIN

Ouch!!!!!!!!

Postby Jon on Mon Nov 17, 2008 10:44 pm

Well here's my twopennyworth, you're quite right Aiddy, you write the report as you see it and as the game turned out. At the same time you're quite wrong in first off, using capitals to try and enforce your point and deny Paula her opinion. That's what forums are all about, having and voicing an opinion, right or wrong. :o

Don't be sad or disgruntled because someone hasn't taken on board your account of the game. You've every right to sing the praises of your midfield for the way they played and if that was the key to your victory then so be it. I can see where Paula's coming from but you seem to have taken it as a personal critisism and again I can see why. :?

Taken the gloss off it? I think not Aiddy, the lads are doing brilliant as a team, I've watched them for a short time this year and they're a good side and by the looks of it......getting better. One comment can't take the gloss off a seasons hard work.
Keep on writing your reports as you see it otherwise you do yourself a disservice and bow to consensus opinion.

You're the 'gaffer' Aiddy but there's no need to shout.

Thanks Jon. I wasn't being funny when I put my comments it was only that there were only 3 players not mentioned in the match report and I just wanted to make them feel part of it as well as like you said sometimes on easy matches they do get overlooked because they haven't had much to do but it keeps them motivated if they see their name when everyone elde has been mentioned.

There is no reason to use capitals and like you said everybody is entitled to their opinion right or wrong athat is what the forum is for.

If I had a concern then I certainly wouldn't voice it over the website I would have approached the manager and it has upset me greatly that Aidey you have taken this the wrong way it certainly wasn't my intention especially when it was your son I have praised.

Hopefully this will be the end of this and as for everyone who is reading this you are entitled to your opinions and don't let this stop you from posting comments good or bad as long as they aren't nasty like we have had previously. Constructive comments don't do any harm

Funny

Postby Jon on Tue Nov 18, 2008 8:57 am

I know you weren't being 'funny' and probably other folks may feel the same way but we're not the team manager and interpretation of a comment can be crucial in a persons reaction. :?

We all react differently to comments 'Like water off a ducks back' most of the time but Aiddy was obviously on a huge 'high' when he wrote the report so to a degree it's understandable that this reaction occured.

All the players of every team play an important part in a teams success and that includes the subs who sometimes don't get as much as a run out as they'd like. If match reports had to mention everyone you'd probably be writing a short story. I'm sure the lads wouldn't take offence at not being mentioned individually and as for motivation, well the way they're playing I think that's taken care of.

Come on Aiddy, put it to bed, last comment from you. Keep that midfield passing and moving. 8)

It just show's that wether your typing or texting, people will have different views/or interpretations. You cant beat face to face, i mean discussion not arguing.

I thought this forum was to promote the club, unfortunately yet again while adults bicker, children suffer!

There is a section for discussion under Chat- not Match reports!

Finally when reading comments posted on this forum you will notice the name of the author to each message on the left hand side of the screen in bold text, so there should be no need for anyone to mis-spell anyone's name should they wish to respond to any given text!

Just a final end to this utter nonsense. The comment I made was not made to offend anyone at the end of the day I was merely pointing out that all players had been mentioned except for 3 it wasn't done in an offensive way and if that is the way it has come across to some people then I apologise.

Unfortunately due to this like you said Paul through this silliness a player has suffered.

Again apologies in future I will stick to my own team and James's then I can't be misconstruded in what I say.

Thought it had ended.

Postby Jon on Wed Nov 19, 2008 2:49 pm

Silly me, thought Aidy's last post had ended it, should have known better.

Don't see why you have to apologise for the comment Paula, you're entitled to your opinion even if it was misconstrued. I'm sure Aidy would be grateful for it though and it's easy to see how it could have been taken as a negative comment and a slight on Aidy's perception. :(

Now for a comment or two on Polo's post, you're right about the website being there to promote the Saints football club but isn't bickering just putting your slant on someone else's discussion? How I wish a hundred folks would come on and 'bicker'.
You're right again about the chat section as well to discuss aspects of games etc but personnally I make comment on allmatch reports that are posted here. Even if it's only a 'well done' comment. I don't see what the problem is with that and I'm sure every manager/coach at Saints expect it and appreciate it.

Finally, what am I missing Polo? 'There's no need to misspell someones name when posting'. Relevance? :?
Paula, how has a player suffered? :? Don't you dare stop posting on other teams performances that really is throwing your dolly out the pram.  . There's few enough posters per week as it is without losing any.

Final finally  I really would like Aidy to have the final say on this thread and be it bickering, arguing or discussing at least there's no one anonymous.
