Clitheroe v Saints

Clitheroe v Saints

Well done lads you played some good football at times on a very heavy pitch. It's a shame it was so bad because you could have beaten this side, no way were you outplayed.

Critisism, well the defence was very suspect, didn't cover well at all today and we constantly had one player playing three of theirs onside, got to look accross that line lads.
We didn't get back quick enough either, hence the number of one on one with our keeper.
I'm sure you would have been better if the pitch had allowed.

All in all it's not a bad finish to the season so well done lads. Hope to see some of you supporting the other teams in their run up to the end of their seasons. :D

Padiham Saints v Clitheroe Wolves

In total agreement with you there Jon, playing conditions weren't the best today but we did get caught out on quite a few occasions when the defence couldn't get back quick enough. The two week break hasn't done us much good as the momentum of the previous 3 games had gone just a bit today. Some excellent football was played and on a lot of occasions we were out classing what is a very good clitheroe side. Their managers were getting really frustrated at the way we were easily winning the ball of them and getting it down the wings however we did leave ourseleves wide open in thge middle which is where they capitalised.
Overall an enjoyable game to watch with a friendly atmosphere and fairish refereeing which is what all games should be like.

I would just like to say that you have improved 110% since the beginning of the season lads and it has been a real pleasure being part of that. Thank you for showing me the respect that you have and I just can't wait till next season. With some good training sessions and the tournaments we have entered along with friendlies I really think that we will do well next season.

Thanks for reminding me Paula, I was also pleased by the exceptional refereeing given his age and lack of experience. Also pleasing was the way both sides accepted his decision without question. As you've already said, a game played in a friendly and sporting atmosphere.

Improving is what it's all about, doesn't matter if you're beaten one nil or ten nil, as long as in your hearts you know you couldn't have given more. If you come off that field shattered you've done your best.

Good luck for the coming tournaments and next year.
