burnley west end tournament

I must be the happiest man in burnley at this moment ,so proud of them lads today of what they have achieved ,every top side from their age group was their today and putting it in more context fulledge won our league ,pendle forest won the cup beating fulledge ,barrowford won the other cup beating west end and barnoldswick came runners up in the other league and west end coming runners up in our league so to do what they have done today is out of this world ,some of the football played by our little fellows was outstanding to only concede 2 goals out of ten matches is unthinkable ,you as parents must be so pleased and proud of them as i am because like my lad its the first main thing he has won as a team .the thing that keeps making me laugh most is when the final wistle went seeing the smiles on there faces jumping up and down ,ill remember that the rest of my life .give them all a hug for me tonight .

It was a brilliant display from all the players today and like you said Aidy it was a real delight seeing their faces at the end. To win this tournament is a fantastic achievement to say the calibre of the teams that they were up against many of whom play for Burnley Academy. The saints went into this tournament with belief and right from the start they played their hearts out. Well done lads you were a real pleasure to watch and a real credit to Padiham Saints. Another cup at the club fantastic.

Just for everybody who didn't come today the saints drew 3 won 4 and lost 1 in the first round finishing 3rd in the table and the top 4 out of the 9 teams went through. We met Fulledge Colts in the semi the game ended up in penalties as both teams were tied at 0-0 after normal and extra time however Joseph did pull off an amazing save just as the final whistle was about to be blown. The saints won 3-1 on penalties.

Final was against Pendle Forest Black again nothing to separate both teams extra time came and it had been decided that if neither team won then they would share the cup rather than doing penalties the saints obviously decided there was no way this was going to happen and upped their game and no sooner had the whistle for extra time to begin had blown Joel Moorhouse did an amazing run down the wing and neatly netted the winner into the back of the net. Game Over and the saints came away deservedly with the cup. Fantastic.

The Saints just go from strength to strength, well done to all on what sounds like a brilliant performance. Think it's time to get the website updated with the list of achievements by all teams this last couple of years. :D :D :D
